Gridlock Hell in St. George: Take Action NOW
Take action against the EBLN using the resources in this email
On 2nd April 2026, an ambulance attending a house on the corner of Beaufort Road and Glebe Road brought Beaufort Road and The Avenue to a complete standstill for over 30 minutes:
Because of Bristol City Council's disastrous East Bristol Liveable Neighbourhood (EBLN) scheme in St George, many residents and visitors only have one road into and out of the majority of the area: Beaufort Road.
This meant:
- Many residents and visitors were completely unable to enter or leave St George
- No access to Northcote Road or Beaconsfield Road
- Cars backed up on The Avenue and Beaufort Road trying to escape
- People trying to enter via Beaconsfield Road couldn't reach anywhere in the blocked zone
This isn't a one-off. This is the daily reality EBLN has forced upon residents and visitors. Planters, and road closures have turned St. George into a trap not just during emergencies, but in daily life too.
St George residents are sick of the constant delays, stress, and danger this scheme causes every single day. The EBLN must be removed immediately. One road in and out for hundreds of residents and thousands of visitors is completely unacceptable.
If you're fed up with EBLN ruining St George and Barton Hill, take action using the resources below:
